Devils Of Loudun Death Metal Tacoma Washington Melodic Live Concert

Hurdcore.com encore interview with Tacoma, Washington based Death Metal band Devils Of Loudun. The Devils of Loudun bring a core of rapid paced melodic death metal masterfully blended with serpentine vocals and keys that transition from creepy to elegantly macabre. Read the full hurdcore.com interview with Devils of Loudun from 2010.

Best place to eat in Tacoma? 1) Red Hots – best hotdogs in the world; 2) King’s Teriyaki Wok – best Asian food ever and right down the street from our practice space. 3) Special mention to Carls Jr. How would you describe your sound and what you’re about? A giant demon pooping out an army of skeletons into your ear…or…a combination of dark, melodic, modern, death metal and old school speed and epic metal with a sprinkle of Orchestral and symphonic music. Topped with a cherry of Cannibal Corpse. Has performing music increased your personal enjoyment of music or soured it? The energy and intensity of playing live metal music in front of a crowd only increases our drive and passion for our musical endeavors. Current trend in music/scene that bugs me…? Auto-tuned singing, techno interludes, and bands that pollute their music with distasteful, repetitive breakdowns. BUT there are many bands that use breakdowns tastefully.

Currently reading… Under the Dome – Stephen King; Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Players Guide; The Art of War – Sun Tzu (yes, really). Currently watching… TV – The Wire, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Seinfeld and Californication. Favorite movie… Dune (1986). Top 5 songs in my personal ipod right now? Kurenai – X Japan; Reeling In The Years – Steely Dan; Ichipher – Dark Tranquility; Mask of Sanity – Children of Bodom; Chased Through The Woods By A Rapist – Waking the Cadaver. Any crazy pre-performance rituals?
Consuming copious amounts of liquor. Translation: Long Island Ice Teas all around. Craziest thing that happened to you during a show? During our 2nd show ever, we were playing El Corazon in Seattle and some kid in the crowd got one of his teeth knocked out in the mosh pit. It was pretty intense for it being our 2nd show ever. A runner up event being the time at Hell’s Kitchen in Tacoma when three drunk girls unexpectedly climbed up on stage with us and starting dancing to our music and in the process turned off guitarist Scott’s power strip shutting off his entire rig in the middle of a song. A pretty ridiculous situation really.

Devils of Loudun (Death Metal – Tacoma, WA) is: Guitar – Scott Hermanns, Bass – Jamey Pierson, Drums – Hosbo, Lead Guitar – Drew “Tuelshed” Tuel, Keys – Ben Velozo, Vocals – Grant Loudun. Keep up to date with shows, songs and news about their upcoming release at the DOL Myspace.

Devils Of Loudun Death Metal Tacoma Washington Melodic Live Concert

Listening to Devils Of Loudun is like the sound track for slaying something evil. Devils Of Loudun bring a core of rapid paced melodic death metal masterfully blended with serpentine vocals and keys that transition from creepy to elegantly macabre. Rising from and with the growing Tacoma, Washington heavy music scene, the gentlemen of DOL bring a creative grit to their technical brand of metal. Our thanks to these Northwest metal musicians for sharing their thoughts in this exclusive hurdcore.com interview with the members of Devils of Loudun.

How do you prepare your throat for the brutality of serpentine vocals?
DOL: It just comes naturally but a little Green Tea or any other smoothing beverage definitely helps.

I was amazed by the prominence and diversity of keys in your music. The keys transition from the classic creepy augmentation to the metal sound to a purer layer of beauty which weaves a lot of depth into your sound. I know the keys are a recent addition, but were keys an original element in the band’s vision or did the concept to add them evolve over time?
DOL: Long before Ben joined the band we had always discussed having a keyboardist and the depth it could add to our bands sound. Unfortunately we were never able to find a keyboardist who shared our vision for the band and so we continued without one but always had kept the idea in the back of our heads. We had actually started writing songs with keyboards included in them a week or two before we had even found Ben’s craigslist add; and once Ben tried out we knew right off the bat that he was the man for the job as he shared our vision, influences and ambition to write intense, dark, melodic death metal.

Keys have become rather sexy as of late in pop and post hardcore but still not as common in sounds as purely metal as yours, how do you find the balance of when to use and not to use the keys?
DOL: When writing a song we do not have any preconceived notions of how many parts need or do not need keyboards. Most of the time while writing we find that we can almost always make a certain part/riff/chorus sound better by adding a keyboard part; and so with most our songs we would say that our keyboardist Ben has a lot more parts than a typical metal keyboardist would have. Keyboards are a versatile instrumental that can really add depth and layers to music when used correctly and so we tend to favor a more keyboard heavy sound.

All genres have their bands that are one dimensional with every song basically blending into the next, you have crafted a very technical sound that seamlessly showcases each component of your band. How much of your sound is painstaking technical efforts and how much of it is a function of cohesion and improvisation during your practices?
DOL: We tend to keep our practices and song writing very structured and down to business, so there is not much room for improvisation or jamming. The songs are usually written well before we ever get into the basement to practice the song, and then while actually playing the song we will tweak or adjust any sections/parts that need improvement.

Devils Of Loudun Melodic Death Metal Tacoma Washington Live Concert

Your name derives from 17th Century French “religious fanaticism and demonic possession,” are you that versed in Huxley’s historical narratives or did you discover the tale as you were hashing out potential band names?
DOL: Everyone in the band is interested and influenced by history, mythology, and theology. When we were passing around band names we found that most were either taken, generic or did not represent anything we wanted to express with our music. Our singer Grant had come to us with the name “The Devils of Loudun” from a book of the same name by Aldus Huxley and we immediately found it to be fitting. We loved the story of the book and how it weaved real historical events with themes of religious deviance and political corruption. We also felt that with a name as encompassing and ambiguous as “The Devils of Loudun” we would be able to play any type/genre of death metal we felt; something that is very important to our band as overtime we plan for our sound to evolve and grow.

Devils Of Loudun is in the process of recording and sending out demo’s, are you going totally grassroots or do you have a team helping you get the word out?
DOL: The effort has very much been a do-it-your-self task but we appreciate and respect all of our fans/friends/family who have helped us spread the word about our music; and there have been many. Domo arigatou.

Are you all Washington natives?
DOL: Drew, Grant and Ben were all born in Washington State. Jamey and Scott were born in California, but both grew up on Vashon Island, WA from an early age. Jose was born in Costa Rica and moved to Washington when he was 10 years old. Regardless, we all have much love and pride for our home state Washington.

What are some of the most encouraging things emerging from your local scene that those who aren’t from your area may not be aware of?
DOL: The most encouraging things emerging in our local Washington metal scene are the promoters and venues who go out of their way to help not very well known bands like us get more exposure. One of our favorite promoters who has helped since our very first show would be a man named Lonnie Local. The amount of work he puts into helping book and promote Washington state metal bands is very admirable. He just recently has started his own webisode series which on the very first episode interviewed us, another awesome band named Helles and the owner and operator of Sumner’s D4 venue, Curtis Everett. The interview also contains live clips of both our bands and we encourage everyone to check it out HERE.

Interview bassist Nate of We Move Mountains CD Release Party 10/22/10

As We Move Mountains prepares for the CD RELEASE of their debut LP this Friday (10/22/10) at Manfest 2.0, we take this opportunity to catch an interview blitz with WMM bassist Nate. The album, Brought Up In A Hurricane, is this band’s shogun challenge to the scene underlings nibbling at the periphery of authenticity, as BUIAH is distinctly raw in the fashion that fans have come to love with indications of growth that will propel We Move Mountains far beyond their local scene in Maple Valley, Washington. Catch the full hurdcore.com INTERVIEW with vocalist Zesty and read the hurdcore.com REVIEW of WMM’s debut LP Brought Up In A Hurricane.

One of our songs that personally means a lot to me? “Sleight of hand”. I means a lot to me because the lyrics really apply to every person in our band. I really can’t help but get into the music because i think its really powerful and just good. If I had an extra $1000, the first piece of equipment I would purchase for the band is A bass cab. I play music because I love music. A lot of people say ” music is my life, without it my life would end.” Not to sound stupid and dramatic like them but I really just love music and love playing it and without it I really don’t know what i would do. We Move Mountains CD Release Party Manfest 2.0 10/22/10 Current trend in music/scene that bugs me…All of the bands that think having a bunch of hot dudes in their band makes their music good. Ashlynn post hardcore Kelso WA album The Existence

Harnessing their instruments as ramrods to shatter surface assumptions now entrenched within the conventions of heavy music, Ashlynn is emerging from the foundational layers of their regional scene to unleash their blend of Northwest positive post-hardcore. With the 2010 release of their 5 song debut EP The Existence, Ashlynn continues to build upon their own acclaim while rising with a network of local artists committed to elevating their scene. Hailing from Kelso, Washington these 5 young met are thrashing stages and inciting crowds with danceable beats that carry a distinct edge.

Kendall doubles as player and manager, working with AAP Booking & Management to promote local music throughout Washington and Oregon. What have been some of the key lessons for you in mastering the business side of music at the local level?
Kendall (guitar/vocals) Well I have made a lot of mistakes, and I am still learning so much everyday! But ever since I started playing music I have been booking shows for all my previous bands so its just kinda normal now. But everyone’s experience is so much different when it comes to this kind of thing. I have had good times and really bad times as well. The best thing I can say is, “Just go big!” And learn along the way.

Your debut EP “The Existence” recently dropped, is this simple title an invitation to a hunting party whose participants wrestle through questions of origin and purpose or is the theme significantly more modest than that?
Alex (vocals) I do a lot of thinking and searching my own life when I write. The title is based more around the concept of my writing. Every one of our songs contains a positive message as well as a lot of hidden metaphorical stuff. And I feel very strongly about the things I write about “The Existence” to me, is the passion “existing” within our music.

If you were summoned by the galactic heavy music tribunal to represent your sub-sector of the hardcore genre, what would you propose as the core tenants of post-hardcore?
Kendall As musicians who come from all different musical backgrounds, we don’t really work inside the boundaries of one genre or another. To be honest we couldn’t really tell you what we consider ourselves to be because we just play what feels right. But to answer your question, We feel that the post hardcore label, for us anyway, is to contain aspects of a heavy feel while still giving the listener something ambient or “catchy” to grab hold of.

Ashlynn brings plenty of heavy for fans to dance to but also mixes in elements of harmony and alt-pop, what about your approach and delivery makes your sound unique?
Kendall This is where our different musical backgrounds come into play. Our singer’s vocal style is much different for the music that is very popular in the scene today. We feel our sound hints at a modern style and structure but has a dreamy/ambient feel as the forefront.

Ashlynn

Mikinzi | Myspace Video

From whence does the name Ashlynn derive?
Kendall We were all sitting down one day trying to come up with a band name and “Ashlynn” accidentally came out and it stuck from the start.

“We Are Walls,” has a line which states, “We will never fail if we never try.” What is the inspiration and message of this song?
Alex I approached this song from a sort of “Anthematic” stand point. Being that I wanted a song that got the listener involved by saying “We” and “us”. When people feel that something needs to change, they can’t complain about it if they themselves havn’t tried or voiced their own opinions. That is kind of the quick explanation of what the song means to me.

Playing in a band is a sexy thing to do, yet the truth is that to be this sexy requires a lot of hard work. What do you do as a band to keep the machine running when the energy isn’t automatic?
Kendall Well it really wasn’t a problem until we hit the road for a couple of weeks on our west coast tour. We always had our eyes out for truck stops to shower but even then we didn’t always get to bath, so we always had hats and heavy clothing (Mainly in the night time or when it wasn’t to hot) to cover up the greasy hair and the bad smell. But to be honest half the time we where on tour we still probably where not looking very good haha.

Ashlynn post hardcore live concert Kelso, WA album The Existence

There appears to be a move in music to join with causes or to support certain movements, how important is it to the members of Ashlynn that your music impacts the scene/people around you with something positive?
Kendall Its very important! We are always sending a positive message in our songs. We are not involved with any specific group or organization but we are always trying to set an example and push not only ourselves but our fans and supporters to follow their dreams and be the best that they can be. We also believe that our lives have been bettered with the love and acceptance of Jesus Christ and we try to show that to as much people as possible. We don’t preach or anything and we are all far from perfect, but if the moment and environment is appropriate, we will share how much of an impact God has made on our lives and in our music. But when Alex is writing lyrics he does have a deep thought about what he is saying and is always sending a positive message! So we are always trying to reach out and connect with our fans and let them know that anything is possible and that they are a big reason that we are where we are.

What’s next for Ashlynn, what are you looking forward to as we enter the final months of 2010?
Kendall Overall we are trying to expand our fanbase to everyone and anyone possible! We are also writing new music and will be recording two new songs here soon to start promoting our next EP or LP and to start planning our next tour, maybe make a music video and start shopping and selling ourselves to buisnesses and organizations. We feel our new songs were written much better and have potential to be accepted by many people of all kinds! We are also adding more little things to our live set, like a new intro, interludes and getting more in sync with each other with our performance.

Ashlynn (Post Hardcore – Kelso, WA) is: Alex Johnson – Vocals; Kendall Johns – Guitar/Vocals; Joel Rambo – Guitar/Keys; Dave Thomas – Bass and Grant Rinker – Drums.

Hailing from the rock rich and rain soaked Seattle indie music scene, Jordan Riley seeks to utilize his talents as a singer/songwriter to positively impact the Northwest with his own blend of upbeat pop rock. As Jordan prepares to release his debut album Identity Crisis, he shares some of the background for his life and message in this exclusive hurdcore.com interview.

Jordan Riley pop rock Christian Seattle Washington Interview

You noted in February of this year that you had been MIA for a bit, in a “postcard to mom” summary, what was your time away about?
Jordan Riley After doing over 500 shows around the USA I really needed to take a break. It wasn’t that I was burnt out, rather I just really wanted to take some time to find my inspiration for my album. It was also during this time away that I got the chance to buy my first house and I spent like all my time on it, so it was a good time to just live life for a while.

You hail from musically rich and yet desolate ground, as the Seattle area has birthed the likes of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Death Cab for Cutie (so many more) while also witnessing its share of rock tragedy such as the deaths of Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley. What have you seen as far as music’s ability to effect people’s lives positively and negatively?
JR I have seen firsthand how music effects peoples moods and emotions. Even at my concerts I have seen how music can take someone back to an amazing place in time or can bring them down and remind them of a hurtful past experience. Also while on tour on the east coast a few years ago I was told how there was this lady that was contemplating suicide and she happened to put in my CD in her car and God got through to her and she chose to live and did not go through with it.

What are some of the key struggles that you are hearing from the people you minister to and how have you seen Jesus become the answer in the lives of individuals?
JR The real struggle for people that I see seems to be, what is real and what can people believe in these days. There is so much hurt and pain out there and people are looking for answers and Truth. I have seen that by people simply being real and transparent other people who are struggling find the ability to trust. Its when we are all fake and pretend that everything is well that we end up messing stuff up.

A new Jordan Riley album is on the way, what is the feel and theme you are working on for this release?
JR My album IDENTITY CRISIS is about real life. I decided to no write about fluffy christian stuff that most people cant identify with. I wanted to talk about the good, the band, and the ugly. In this album I deal with my hurt from my past and how i worked through my pain. My hope is that people can relate to some of the things that i went through.

What was your journey into performing as a profession?
JR Well to be honest, still to this day I am surprised that I am a professional Christian Rock singer. I grew up super shy and had zero self confidence. In fact at age 12 my aunt and uncle told me I couldn’t sing and started laughing at me, which tore me up inside. It really was a God thing to take me from a place of hiding in the shadows all the time, to being on stage in front of people all across the country.

Is music the ministry for Jordan Riley Ministries or just one of the heads for this Balaur of good news?
JR I always say that Jordan Riley Ministries is “more than just music” because it really is. Music is simply the vehicle that gets the band and I to be able to come to a city. Yes we put on a concert, and yes we rock, and yes we entertain, but we want people to meet Jesus one on one at the concert. We hope that people come to our shows and have a great time and during the night begin to want what we have, and begin to get real with things in their own lives. I also do a lot of speaking around the country too, so my desire is that Jordan Riley Ministries is very versatile.

Jordan Riley singer songwriter rock pop Seattle Washington Interview

As you embark on this mission to share Jesus through life and music, what do you do to keep your faith fresh?
JR I have learned over the years that in order to keep my faith fresh i need to do a few things: A) Take myself less serious and take Jesus more serious. B) Surround myself with other strong Christians who will encourage me and keep me accountable. C) Spend a lot of time just praising God, because when you thank and worship the Lord you take the focus of yourself.

Who in your life helps to inspire you and hold you accountable to the course you believe God has called you to?
JR The four guys in my band are like my accountability partners as well as my producer, who has become a mentor/spiritual dad to me, not to mention the pastors at my church. As far as my biggest sources of inspiration, they tend to be my friends and just the people and experiences that God brings into my life. Because I tend to write songs that reflect or are about my direct experiences I look to the things that God allows me to go through as an inspiration.

We Move Mountains CD Release Brought Up In A Hurricane Washington Oregon Hardcore Concert

From start to finish Brought Up In A Hurricane is a chaotic whirlwind of raw emotion executed with freshmen savvy that will leave fans appetites awakened for a taste of something they want more of. In 12 tracks We Move Mountains unleashes furious assault upon the musical senses with rapid fire instruments napalming their way through an mp3 wasteland of black smedium t-shirts. We Move Mountains will take no prisoners but they will captivate listeners with an album that is well produced while refreshingly raw.

This album includes fan favorite tracks such as “Dan Nettekoven Snakes The Win” which released earlier this year with the bands first music video and “You Better Watch Your Throat” which belts out identifiable incantations such as “I’m normal. I’m normal. I swear to God I’m normal.” We Move Mountains skillfully blends several elements of hardcore to such a degree that at the opening of “Congratulations Universe, You Win” I was infused with favorable memories of some of the most enjoyable bands coming up through local scenes at the turn of the century. In “Dude, Cameron, Bro” the band takes a well placed detour from pure brutality to demonstrate their potential for diversity by reaching a straightforward rock ambience with clear vocals spiced perfectly with screams and running leads that crescendo in a breakdown finale.

Throughout Brought Up In A Hurricane, the vocals and guitars take their turn in leading songs and overall meld artfully to construct a total sound that is diverse, genuine and compelling. We Move Mountains manages to capture the energy that make their live sets memorable to such a degree that one can imagine band members passing out at the end of the recording process. To placate the thirst for definitions, this album is best described as a chaotic mash of genres the likes of spazzcore sans overt femininity (spazz-man-core), screamo without the droning and metalcore with chunk laden breakdowns. We Move Mountains gets plenty low but does not substitute down tuning for innovation, as the guitars constantly chop through each track matching the unbridled emotion of each scream, grunt, rapid downbeat and cymbal clash.

We Move Mountains Brought Up In A Hurricane Debut CD 10/22/10

As one of the most recent additions to the album the song “Pterodactyls” takes the vocals to a into a new precipice of guttural treats and is perhaps the most telling as to the maturation and direction We Move Mountains will take as they continue to progress as a band. For a band that is already bursting at the seams of their tight pants, if they continue to expand their musical arsenal they are likely to detonate into a mushroom cloud of galactic creativity dust. Brought Up In A Hurricane is this band’s shogun challenge to the scene underlings nibbling at the periphery of authenticity, this album is distinctly raw in the fashion that fans have come to love with indications of growth that will propel We Move Mountains far beyond their local scene in Maple Valley, Washington.

Local and national stories within the entertainment industry abound with many of the upcoming artists of today operating without class, conducting themselves with little respect for fans or for those who have come before them. We Move Mountains CD Release Brought Up In A Hurricane Washington Oregon Hardcore Concert The young men of We Move Mountains, through hard work and an uniquely deepening intimacy with their fans, have carved for themselves a blossoming legacy of invigorating melodic hardcore. With a blistering blend of beauty and brutality, We Move Mountains besets their fans with bowel rumbling breakdowns, blood curdling bellows and get-your-booty-moving melodically interwoven beats. Their message is sincere and overall positive as their music continues to mature with the members of the band. We Move Mountains is keeping Maple Valley classy as they build upon a solid foundation of friendship and a dragon slayers commitment to musical innovation. Hurdcore.com is glad to re-introduce We Move Mountains as they prepare to release their debut album “Brought Up In A Hurricane.”

You were selected to play the Vans Warped Tour Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands in Boise in 09 – how cool of an experience was that?
Zesty Sams (vocals) As cool as it sounds and more. Growing up (which is something we’re still doing a lot of), it was our dream to play Warped Tour. Conquering such a titan of a goal so young felt phenomenal. It’s honestly still hitting us from time to time. We’d still love to play the whole thing year after year and hope we get the opportunity!

The video for Dan Nettekoven Snakes The Win turned out all pro, what was the process and who did you work with to shoot this video?
ZS So glad you guys liked it! It was actually a project for Keller’s [Guitar/Vocals] Video Production class. Him and our good friend, Mark worked the camera. It was filmed down in South Bend at this warehouse called Terra Firma, owned by a family friend. Speaking of family, the boy and ballerinas in the video were Keller’s cousins! Then after a long day of filming, Keller spent a couple weeks editing it all and ended up with the final product! We were pretty proud of him for making a high school project look so professional.

So, I did a little digging – there is a young man by the name of Dan Nettekoven who happens to live in Maple Valley with y’all, does the song have anything to do with Dan?
ZS Oh man Jon, we were rolling on the floor for this one. Here’s the ridiculous story of Dan Nettekoven. Dan was a buddy of ours, nothing too special. Until he started getting away with all these things he definitely shouldn’t have been getting away with. In other words, this kid was snaking the win. Then we met another guy who looked just like Dan Nettekoven, who happened to be snaking the win as well. One day, working on the song (still untitled at the time), Dan was the topic of our conversation. After laughing deliriously at how silly we were, Dan Nettekoven Snakes The Win snaked the win for best song title. So I guess the point is, no, he has absolutely nothing to do with us! But now people see him at the local grocery store and are like “OMG DAN NETTEKOVEN”. He’s become quite the celebrity.

The chorus for this song belts, “Life has taught me, friends you’ll never know – and we’re all kinds of ****ed up differents” What does this mean for you personally?
ZS Well for the most part, it means exactly what it says. The lyrics in that song aren’t about one specific thing. It was one of the best rants I’ve had, a huge group of somethings I needed to get of my back. One of those things I just had to tell myself was “you’ve had a great run so far and all along the way, you’ve had people supporting you and dragging you down, but most importantly, making you who you are. Be thankful”. I am thankful, especially thankful to be friends with the guys in the band. It’s for everyone I’ve ever shared up and downs with, or even just a walk to the local market. Friends have always been there for me, and i know the best ones always will be.

Zesty handles the screaming and Keller works the sexy vox, your songs are very fluid in the transitions from breakdowns to harmonies, is the writing process for you like a blacksmith banging out a piece of metal or are you guys at such a point that once the core idea is formed everyone pretty much falls in like a 24 piece Elmo puzzle from the dollar store?
ZS People are going to enjoy the questions more than the answers for sure! haha. I wish we could say we were all blacksmiths, but the Elmo puzzle seems more fitting…no pun intended? Our songs come together as if we bought a piece at a time. Riff by riff, they slowly come together, then drums are worked in, and vocals/lyrics last. We currently have two in the works! One is untitled, and the other that is near completion is called “There She Blows…And Boy, Does She!”.

“I’m normal. I’m normal. I swear to God, I’m normal.” First of all, this song is a lie, the dudes of WMM are anything but normal – ha ha, and secondly that is what makes you great! Does this song touch on your own journey to find your spot in the game of life or more reaching out to those who are trying so hard to “fit in” (or both or neither, ha ha)?
ZS Kind of both. At school, we were always kind of the misfits/floaters, but that was okay with us. We were true to ourselves, and more than content with that. A large number of our peers, however, were sacrificing so much happiness just to fit this silly mold of “normal”. They were always working for someone else’s satisfaction. All the while, we, the people happy with our lives and who we were growing up to be, were the ones being ridiculed for being “weird/freaks”. So in the end, the line turned out to be us mocking them, i guess. Everyone does strange things, so why can’t we just accept that and have that be the norm.

Last we talked you were preparing to enter phase 2 of recording your full length, Did you complete recording for Brought Up In A Hurricane?
ZS Tracking is finished! The CD is going through it’s final phases of mixing/mastering/printing. We had the album art redone with our buddy, Christopher Moore of ZeroART, and it was a fantastic decision. His final product shattered our expectations and will be released with a layout and a new song, “Pterodactyls” very soon!

Is there a theme/message to this album?
ZS Yes there is! It’s how the album came to be renamed (used to be Violence, Violence, Violins) now that you mention it. The only thing in common with all of the songs is that each one dealt with a hardship faced by either me(zesty) or Keller. It’s not like I grew up poverty stricken and dying of hunger in war torn Africa or anything, but I did my fair share of growing up in a very small amount of time, that put me through all sorts of emotions and thoughts. I came out the other end with all of these songs, so we think the title fits perfectly!

Where can fans get a copy?
ZS BUIAH will be $10 at shows! As of right now, mail orders are looking like they’ll be possible with an extra $5 for shipping and we’ll be doing our best to get it onto iTunes!

Who did you work with on this recording and what was the experience like as you cut your first full length?
ZS Sean Green of Gun Ho Productions! He used to be in Sanctity In Silence and is a wonderful friend of ours. Listening to our songs come out in such clear quality was awesome, and there was plenty of smiling at the finished product. We can’t wait to have the shrink-wrapped copy in our hands!

How has your view of music changed (good or bad) since you started WMM?
ZS I’m pretty sure for most of us, it’s stayed the same. If anything has changed it would be that all of these bands we’re looking up to were and might still be just like us. People who love playing music and having a good time! But at the same time, we’ve become more aware of the bands that don’t really care, and play music for gold, wenches, or fame. We slay dragons because we enjoy the copper scent, the crimson shower, and the deafening roar of a freshly slain dragon!
