Since the world is so sure to end in May or October or at the latest 2012, the release of Tallboy’s debut full length album, This Logic Will Destroy Us couldn’t come soon enough. With a bit of rework on a few classics from their previous EP and an onslaught of new material, these metal heads from Medford, Oregon take one more step in their progression towards a national presence.
Regardless of the final date for Apocalypse, the seconds are ticking down towards the end of something – might as well be rocking something local! This Logic captures the speed, angst and skill that has made Tallboy a fan favorite on stages throughout the state of Oregon but the Tallboy experience isn’t complete until you experience for yourself the explosive package that Tallboy unleashes in their live sets. Fire up a hard or digital copy of This Logic Will Destroy Us, then pack your rawk fist in a duffel bag, jump in the Fiesta and get your bad self over to a Tallboy show.
We know you are a big deal in your hometown of Medford, what have you all been working on to keep the Tallboy train moving onward and outward from your Southern Oregon base?
Tallboy The love from our amazing fans and sponsors has been the biggest driving force for us. Creating new relationships with other great bands outside of the Medford area (like Lidless Eye from Roseburg and A Single Second from Sacramento) has been great for us as well. We love them and we love traveling to their home towns to play with them.
The path to anything worthwhile is paved with ups and downs, has there been recent adversity that has caught you off guard? What did you learn from this experience(s)?
TB When we first began recording the album we went to a completely different studio. It was like a practice recording. We were just looking for the right sound and through some trial and error we’ve found it. We’ve learned to be picky – never settle if you know what you’re looking for.
Your debut full length album “This Logic Will Destroy Us” is set to release very soon, what is the meaning or message in the title?
TB My original intent behind the title was to convey my frustrations with the flaws in society’s general way of thinking. But I greatly enjoy hearing others interpretations of it as well as our lyrics.
Will this album be all new tracks or will it feature some Tallboy classics as well?
TB Four of the five songs from our EP, “We Aren’t the Champions”, were rerecorded on the album. As the songs have grown with us, we’ve chosen to represent them once again.

Where will “This Logic Will Destroy Us” be available for fans to purchase (will it be on iTunes)?
TB Yes, the album will be on ITunes as well as locally. Our awesome sponsors, the Bomb Shelter, Play’N'Trade, and The Store will all have the CD for sale. Hopefully you will be able to find it at Best Buy also!
Who did you work with to record, edit and release this album?
TB Aaron Korpa AMK Productions, A close friend of ours from Seattle. He challenged us and forced us to explore our songs in depth. It was a frustrating yet exciting process.
For those who may just be hearing about Tallboy for the first time, how would you describe your sound and what Tallboy is about?
TB Think Incubus meets Killswitch Engage. We call it the “Tallboy Family” for a reason. Our fans are very dear to us. We love communicating and eating opinions (both good and bad) – they help us grow on many levels.
Will TLWDU feature any new musical treats, vocal twists or sound alterations?
TB I think you will hear a lot of ear candy throughout the whole album.
The Tallboy logo is in the form of a cross, was this just a design element or is there an aspect of your music that touches on the spiritual at some level?
TB It is my understanding that it is predominantly a design element – but take from it what you will.
